Several young farmers are currently participating in a 6-month Farmers Field School (FFS) training program, which offers farmers a platform to exchange knowledge and perform practical experiments, allowing them to develop their cultivation skills.
The program is being held at the Fahies Outreach Center, in Newton Ground, St. Kitts.

This week, the training focuses on lessons found in Agro Ecosystem Analysis (AESA).
Agroecology is a scientific discipline that seeks to provide an objective, ecologically based assessment of the structure, function, multidimensionality, and special scale of food systems.
Crop Extension Officer for District #1, Mr. Lionel Stevens, also explained the reason why the current crops are being used to conduct the ongoing lessons:
