The staggered suspension of face-to-face instruction in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to concerns about consequences for students’ learning. The short and long term impacts of insufficient education are referred to as “Learning Loss”. According to covid19.uis.unesco.org, “over 100 million children around the world will fall below the minimum proficiency level in reading, due to the impact of school closures,” as a result of the pandemic.
