Almost $10 million paid out under the BBW-JAD Cash initiative
Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, told the nation about the monies disbursed under his Government’sBBW (Budget Boost Wallet) initiative, during his press conference on Mar. 6th.
BBW is a short-term financial relief for citizens and residents in St. Kitts & Nevis. It offers EC$250 monthly for six months (January to June) to individuals earning EC $5,000 or less in gross income per month.
The monies can be used for essential expenses such as food, utilities, and mortgages through a secure, cashless platform powered by local digital service provider JAD. Individuals can contact the Ministry of Social Development at 662-5993 (or via WhatsApp), for more information. PM Drew added:
The money according to PM Drew, are from the Consolidated Fund. CBI is also a part of that Fund.
