No DVRD Day for Easter considering ongoing VAT Relief Holiday Federal Gov’t says

There will not be a Discounted VAT Rate Day (DVRD) for Easter this year, a release from the Federal Government says.

The decision was made in light of the ongoing six-month VAT (Value Added Tax) Relief Holiday Initiative from January to June (VAT reduced from 17 to 13%), where prices on goods and services in St. Kitts and Nevis reflect reduced prices.

The Labour-led administration took the decision to put in place a DVRD in the Easter Season to provide relief to consumers and stimulate economic activity. However, it has been determined that the extended VAT Holiday offers greater and more sustained benefits to the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The current VAT Holiday ensures that all citizens and residents can enjoy reduced VAT rates on a wide range of goods and services for an extended period.

According to the release, the Federal Government remains dedicated to implementing policies that prioritize the welfare of its citizens and residents.
