Young Leaders Named as St. Kitts and Nevis Expands Climate Action through LEAF Initiative

Every year on April 22nd, nations around the world recognize Earth Day, a date which marks the birth of the modern environmental movement celebrated by over a hundred countries.

As part of its Earth Day celebrations, the Federal Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment has launched the 2026–27 cohort of Youth Environmental Ambassadors under its newly instituted Leaders for Environmental Action and Future (LEAF) Program.

The initiative brings together selected students from across both St. Kitts and Nevis, aged 16–19 who will serve a year-long tenure focused on advancing climate action, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Participants will engage in community outreach, public education, and awareness campaigns designed to strengthen national environmental engagement and amplify youth participation in shaping solutions.

The 2026–2027 Youth Environmental Ambassadors are Rudelcia Budgeon, Lockston Edwards, Tamia Lopez, Fara Manning, Tyler Maynard, Taleece Morton, Aisha Nakeda, Prakruti Rastogi, Joliver Roseme, Ewin Telemaque and Syeisha Williams.
