American actor Michael (say jie) Jai White and his wife Gillian Iliana White are currently on the Nevis for the filming of the Nevis’ 7^th movie “The Island”. The announcement was made by Premier of Nevis the Hon Mark Brantley.

Mr. Brantley was quoted as saying “a real pleasure to welcome actor Michael Jai White and his wife Gillian Iliana White to Nevis as we start our 7^th feature film to be shot on the island… Huge thanks to Philippe Martinez of MSR Media for being a truly great partner as we try to build a movie industry in Nevis from the ground up.”

Michael Jai White according to imdb.com is an American actor and martial artist who has appeared in numerous films and television series. He is the first African American to portray a major comic book superhero in a major motion picture, having starred as Al Simmons, the protagonist in the 1997 film Spawn. White also portrayed Jax Briggs in Mortal Kombat: Legacy (2011) and boxer Mike Tyson in the 1995 HBO television movie Tyson. He was also featured in the 2008 Batman based movie The Dark Night.

“The Island” is an action film being produced on Nevis by MSR Media.

MSR Media is a UK-based boutique film and TV Production Company and the NIA partnered to launch a Film Industry on Nevis. The company has thus far, completed five movies and held a film writers competition.
