The Citizen Security Secretariat (CSS) has reaffirmed its commitment to engaging stakeholders where they are. Coordinator, Eartha Carey and Research and Data Analysis Officer, Hance Richards made a presentation to the St. Kitts-Nevis National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention, serving as both an introduction to the Secretariat and the start of what is expected to be a productive, long-term collaboration.
The CSS is part of the Government’s strategic approach to enhancing safety and security across the Federation. By actively reaching out to both governmental and non-governmental bodies, the Secretariat seeks to foster cooperation, share data-driven insights, and align on programmes that reduce crime and build community resilience.
The recent presentation to the National Council on Drug Abuse highlighted the intersection of substance abuse prevention and community security, two areas deeply linked in the broader fight against crime. Through these engagements, the Secretariat aims to ensure that resources are used efficiently, efforts are not duplicated, and outcomes are measurable.
