CMO provides tips on preventing HFMD Disease

The Federation’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Hazel Laws, has provided a tips on how citizens and residents can prevent the spread of Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease (HFMD). It comes as SKN is experiencing an outbreak of the disease.

 

 

HFMD is a highly contagious viral infection that mostly affects young children but can also spread to adults, which causes fever, mouth sores, and a rash on the hands and feet. It is usually mild but is spread easily through close contact, coughs, sneezes, and contaminated surfaces.

 

In her message to the nation, Dr. Laws spoke of the schools should follow a strict cleaning routine.
