Junior Minister of Education here on Nevis, the Hon. Troy Liburd.
Minister Liburd was speaking during a sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly, on Thursday July 2nd. Students began to receive their devices on May 28th 2020, according to Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education in St. Kitts, Mr. Vincent Hodge.
Additionally, the devices are to facilitate virtual learning (E-Learning), in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.E-Learning is utilizing electronic technologies to access educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom. Mr. Liburd gave an update on the number of homes receiving internet from the Government and mentioned that there is assistance for persons still experiencing issues regarding the virtual learning.
