The federal government has made a few announcements relating to a number of concessions to benefit the people of St. Kitts and Nevis along with the remaining VAT Days for the year.

From July 1st to September 30th 2024, two approved temporary concessions will take place, namely; the Air Cooling Devices Concessions and the School Supplies Concessions. For the Air Cooling Devices Concessions, no taxes will be charged on eligible devices. A.C. units with a BTU strength of 24,000 or less, fan and evaporative coolers along with items for school including cloth for school uniforms, textbooks and calculators will be exempt from Import Duty, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Customs Service Charge.

The tax relief will be available to all commercial and non-commercial importers, to ensure all can benefit from the initiative.

The government also announced the remaining VAT Days for 2024, with Back to School Discounted Days to take place on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th August exclusive of vehicles and the Christmas Discounted Days on Friday 13th and Saturday 21st December 2024 inclusive of vehicles.
