Five Members of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society Honoured

Five longstanding members of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society were honoured on Thursday, November 3rd at an Investiture Ceremony held at the Government House, in St. Kitts, for the dedicated service to the management and achievements of the cultural and historical site.

 

 

The Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, also known as the Gibraltar of the West Indies, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of historical, cultural, and architectural significance. It is one of the best-preserved historical fortifications in the Americas.

 

 

The Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society was established in 1965.

 

 

The honourees, who were dubbed Honourary Governors of the Society, are Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis -Sir Tapley Seaton, Former Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis – Sir Edmund Lawrence, Mr. Kenneth Martin, Mrs. Gloria Wilkin and Mr. Larry Armony.

 

 

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, Minister of Government, members, family and friends of the honourees.
