Representatives from the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) here on Nevis, issued an appeal on Monday, March 29^th, 2021 to persons, encouraging them to pay the Unincorporated Business TAX (UBT). 

This is a tax levied at 4% of Sales of goods and Services, after granted permission, which applies to every person or group carrying on a business, who is not registered under the Companies Act, classified as “Unincorporated Taxpayers”, sknird.com says. 

The final day to pay this tax is Wednesday, March 31^st, 2021.

After which, failure to pay will attract a fee of $50 per day.

In speaking with the VONNEWSLINE, Deputy Comptroller at the IRD on Nevis, Mrs. Neva Manners-Limonta, gave this comment regarding the UBT:

She added that there is a unit; to aid in payment arrangements.
