Elphlin Warner MBE more popularly known as ‘King Meeko’ has been chosen as the patron for the 50th celebration of Culturama.
The announcement was made during a media conference hosted by the Nevis Culturama Committee on Tuesday June 25th. Mr. Warner is known for his vast contribution towards the festival and the development of the Arts especially Calypso across the federation.
He won a total of nine (9) Culturama Calypso Crowns, winning his first crown in 1978. He also made many contributions such as representing the island across the region and on the international stage. King Meeko is known for his infamous pieces “Nevis Nice”, “Ruff me Up”, “Sing you Piece” among many others songs over the years.
