Minister of Agriculture wins World Food Day Minister’s Cook-off

Those were the scores for the Minister’s Cook-off held on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 between Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Mark Brantley who competed against Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture and fisheries the Hon. Alexis Jeffers. 

 

The Cook-off was part of a week of activities organized to replace the department’s annual Agriculture Open Day activities, which usually takes place in March. 

 

The day October 17th , was dubbed “Old Time Saturday,”  which featured the sale of traditional foods from Nevis, a farmers market, mixology class, domino competition and Ministers cook-off between Premier Brantley and Deputy Premier Jeffers. 

 

Minister Jeffers made these comments as it relates to the importance of the week’s observance:

The theme for this year’s World Food Day “Grow, nourish, sustain together”.
