Nevis’ Department of Agriculture tackles two Invasive Species in 2022 

That was Director of Agriculture on Nevis, Mr. Randy Elliott. 

 

Black Sigatoka is a leaf spot disease that is usually seen on banana trees.

 

According to business.qld.gov.au, severely infected leaves can die, significantly reducing fruit yield and causing mixed and premature ripening of fruit bunches. 

 

The Citrus Canker is a citrus disease caused by bacteria according to usda.gov. While not harmful to humans, a canker significantly affects the vitality of citrus trees, causing leaves and fruit to drop prematurely.
