In the wake of fire which occurred at the Four Seasons Resort, Nevis, on Tuesday night Oct. 31st, the Resort issued an official statement expressing its thanks to the emergency services and the Nevisian public for its support, as well as confirming that there were no loss of lives, nor injuries.
“The safety and well-being of our employees and guests is our top priority and we are relieved to share that everyone is safe and unharmed. We want to extend our gratitude to our dedicated staff, as well as the local fire department and emergency services teams for their rapid response and efficient handling of the situation,” the statement read.
It added “as we assess the extent of the damages and develop a plan for the restoration of the facilities, the Resort remains open and welcoming guests.” Based on preliminary reports, the gym and pro shop areas at the Resort have been destroyed but there is no damage to the main hotel or any of the guest rooms or villas. Thus far, fire officials the cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Nevis’ Premier, Mark Brantley, “extended heartfelt sympathies to the owners, management and staff at the Resort and pledge the Government’s fullest support and partnership in returning our landmark hotel to its former glory as quickly as possible.” Premier Brantley toured the Resort on Wednesday Nov. 1st and confirmed “the Resort is in pristine condition.”
