Second Shark captured from SKN’s waters in a week

A second shark was captured in the Federation’s waters on Thursday, January 21st, 2021.

Photos circulated on social media indicate, that the shark was captured in Dieppe Bay, St Kitts.

Similarly it was reported on Monday, January 18th , 2021 that a 7-foot-shark was caught in the Dieppe Bay waters, by a local fisherman.

Given the recent sharks captured and the shark attack against a Ross University student on Saturday, January 9th, should the federation expect a caution to be issued in the future to discourage fisher-folk and sea bathers, etc., as it relates to activities in the sea?

The VONNEWSLINE contacted Director of the Department of Marine Resources – Mr. Mark Williams and the Federal Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, the Hon. Alexis Jeffers concerning the abovementioned but to no avail.
