St. Kitts and Nevis celebrates International Youth Day  

St. Kitts and Nevis along with other countries around the world are celebrating International Youth Day.

Celebrated on August 12th 2022, the objective of International Youth day based on information from un.org, “is to amplify the message that action is needed across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and leave no one behind.”

Secretary General of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Commission for UNESCO, Ms. Dorothy Warner, gave this brief history on the day’s observance:

In Related News – The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs in St. Kitts, issued a statement in recognition of International Youth Day.

The ministry said “The purpose of (International Youth Day) is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding youth.”

 

The theme for this year’s Youth Day is “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a World for All Ages”.
