St. Kitts hosts 1st regional Male nurses conference

“Male Nurses – Why Not??”

That was the theme for the first regional male nurses conference, which was held in St. Kitts, at the Ocean Terrace Inn from Oct. 24th to the 26th.

The event was organized by the Retired Energetic Nurses Touching All Lives (RENTAL) and was attended by health professionals, male students, and other stakeholders. 

Minister of State with responsibility for Health, the Hon. Wendy Phipps, spoke of how the public the views males nurses and the notion that is portrayed.

Meantime, Senior Minister and Minister of Labour in St. Kitts, the Hon. Vance Amory, also spoke at the male nurses conference, on behalf of Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.

Nevis has two male nurses, while in St. Kitts, there are 14 males. 11 of the 14 men are registered nurses.
