Public Schools across Nevis will officially close on Wednesday Dec. 6th, as the 1st term of the 2023-2024 Academic Year (or School Year) officially comes to an end, allowing students to commence their Christmas vacation. Term 1 began on Sep. 4th 2023.

However, for teachers, the term will end on Friday Dec. 8th. In St. Kitts, schools closed on Tuesday December 5th but for teachers, the term officially ends on Friday December 8th.

Term 2 alias “the Sports term” will officially commence on January 8th 2024.

In more national news- Demolition work continued on Tuesday Dec. 5th, on the old Basseterre High School, in St. Kitts. This will pave the way for the construction of the new BHS. So far, the demolition process has ar provided jobs for a number of local contractors in St. Kitts.
