“Our actions are our future- Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life”
That was the theme for the 2021 observance of World Food Day (WFD). World Food Day is celebrated every year on October 16th to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945.
Since 1981, World Food Day has celebrated various themes to highlight the importance of food security, with most of them revolving around agriculture.
In keeping with the observance, Minister of Agriculture, Alexis Jeffers, said food should not be wasted.
A few activities were organized by Nevis’ Ministry of Agriculture, in commemoration of the observance.
