Minimum wage increase being reviewed by Ministry of Employment and Labour
The Ministry of Employment and Labour-St. Kitts, is undergoing a review into the potential increase in the Federation’s minimum wage.
St. Kitts & Nevis’ minimum wage stands at $9 per hour or $360 per week for 40 hours of work.
A minimum wage advisory committee is also in place assisting in the review. According to Labour Commissioner, Shernel James, factors such as the Covid 19 pandemic, recent inflation and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will all be considered when making decisions.
